TYPES OF VISIT
The different rooms and sites will give you an insight into the life of Isabella the Catholic from her birth to her rise as Queen of Castile. The most important events during her reign and the sovereign’s ties with the town of Medina del Campo will round off the tour, ending with the two key documents signed in this palace: her will and codicil.
The Royal Testamentary Palace offers different types of visit, whether individually, as a group or as part of a guided tour.
Individual Visit
This will give you an in-depth insight into the figure of Queen Isabella, using the interactive and audiovisual resources offered by the centre.
This visit is recommended for individuals, groups of less than 25 people or groups of more than 25 people who haven’t booked the guided tour. Reservations are not required.
Duration: around 40 minutes are recommended to visit the Palace.
Family Visit
For visitors travelling as a family, the Palace has educational booklets for the little ones to enjoy the visit in a fun and educational way.
The booklets will be given to children under 12 years free-of-charge when buying tickets.
If, on top of this, you’d like your children to engage even more, you could send them to one of the workshops and educational sessions held throughout the year at the Royal Palace. For more information, please go to the News and Activities section.
Duration: around 40 minutes are recommended to visit the Palace.
Group Visits
Groups of more than 25 people can take part in two types of visit:

Guided tour: Guided tour: visitors will be escorted by a guide who will show them the least known and most striking aspects of the Queen’s life, as well as her last days and the provisions of her will and codicil.

Individual visit: Groups of over 25 people are not required to take a guided tour. They can also visit the Palace on their own. If the group is accompanied by its own guide, he or she must have authorisation to lead the tour.
Reservations are not required, but we recommend informing the Royal Testamentary Palace about your plan to visit at least 24 hours in advance,
Duration: 45 minutes per tour.
School and educational visits
By visiting the Royal Testamentary Palace of Isabella the Catholic, students will gain an insight into the figure of Queen Isabella and learn about the most significant events under her reign, all in a fun way and adapted to their age and knowledge. The guide will interact with the students, meaning that they will experience history at first hand. During the tour, they will find out about the government of the kingdom, as well as more personal and human facets of the Queen of Castile.
They will finish by learning about two of the most important documents that Isabella prepared shortly before her death: her last will and testament and the codicil.
Schools will have access to two teaching units:
- The different sides of Isabella. Teaching unit for primary education. Approximate duration of visit with teaching unit: 50 minutes.
- The Royal Family. Teaching unit for secondary education. Approximate duration of visit with teaching unit: 50 minutes.
Duration: 50 minutes per tour.
After the visit, students can access the Third Voyage of Christopher Columbus Room, where this explorer explains the details of his third voyage. If you visit this room, please add on 16 minutes to the guided tour for each group of twenty students.

The walls of this palace have a lot to tell and we believe that now is the time to make them known to everyone on a very special night.
This visit is available for groups of less than 20 people on specific dates of the year and for groups of more than 20 people upon request (subject to availability).
Duration: 60-70′
Prices:
– 7,00€ per person for individuals for tickets bought directly at the Palace.
– 200,00 /group requesting a tour outside the scheduled times (maximum 25 people per group).
